At Arpan we provide a multitude of learning opportuntities to suit your skill levels, schedules and learning styles. Listed below are a few of our programs. Quarterly Group Lessons

Most registered students are auto-enrolled for quarterly classes. They become part of a group that starts at the same level and proceeds to learn all aspects of the art form as a team; supporting and nurturing each other.

Anytime Private or semi-private lessons

We also offer private classes for those occasions that require personal 1:1 attention. Some typical scenarios include:

1. Preparations for shows or arangetrams.
2. Desire to work on polishing technique, abhinaya, theory or any other aspect.
3. Need more support to assimilate what was taught in class.
4. Willingness to learn an aspect that is not in their curriculum yet.
5. Desire to learn a different repertoire piece or work on choreographing an item as per personal interest.

Visiting Artists & Living Legends series

We are always interested and excited to bring visiting artists to enhance and enrich Arpan student experiences. Some names that have graced the Arpan studio are Prof. C.V. Chandrasekhar, Astad Deboo, Dr. Kalamandalam Radhika, Shri V.P. Dhananjayan, Shaly Vijayan, Sunil Kothari, Uma Nagar, Mohanan and Seshadri Iyengar amongst others.

Cross-Genre work

Cross-genre work is encouraged and promoted at Arpan. Students have had the opportunity to interact with dancers from different genres such as Kathak, Mohiniyattam, Odissi, Contemporary (both Indian and American), African American folk and Ballet.

Mommy and Me

Mommy and me classes are yet another popular option where mothers can learn with their daughters or use the private lessons to bond with their child during the learning process by participating in a focussed manner. This class is available not just to tiny tots but also to teenagers and their moms as they navigate through a difficult period in their lives.
